My mind races with ceaseless thoughts
They bang and clang against my head
Frustration overwhelms me.

An itch irritates my leg
My eyes flutter open, then closed
I fidget restlessly,
Wondering why I sit here staring into emptiness.

All that greets me is silence
A canvas of white noise
A tapestry of nothingness.

I strike up a conversation with the Creator—
the One whose voice I sometimes hear.
The words fill the void within me,
touching my innermost being with everything, and yet, nothing.

“I can’t find you God,” I speak into the stillness.

It feels like silk, a gentle caress upon my soul.
Real and unreal, nestled deep within my core,

the Voice breathes in me a simple reply,
“I’m right here. Hear, I Am.” 

My mind eases its grip
focused now on the silent conversation—
the one that is both nothing and Everything.

“Can you place your trust in this Inner Voice?”
Everything softly implores.

“I’ll try. I know you’re here,
speaking to me through your Voice of Love—
the Voice that is nothing yet Everything.
But I sometimes doubt it’s real.
Sometimes I doubt you’re real.”

“Beloved, it is I,
the Voice of Love,
encompassing Everything.
Can you receive this Voice as a precious gift?
Lift it up to God with gratitude?”

“At times, yes.
But there are moments when fear takes hold.
Anxiety grips me.
I worry I might lose you.
The clamor of my thoughts,
the chaos of the world,
drown out your Voice.
I feel adrift.
Lost.
Afraid.”

“Go, tell the others about this Voice of Love.
They too can hear it,
if they become nothing
so they can become Everything in Me.

“From emptiness, Everything unfurls.
The Voice of Love speaks within you, to you.
Empty yourself, that you may be filled with Everything.

“Listen.
I am here.
We are One.”
